Inconjunct aspects are a lesser known and used planetary interaction, and considered a minor aspect in astrology. In most cases they cause internalized changes to occur in our lives out of necessity. We make changes to accommodate an area of our life which would otherwise disintegrate or change to a point we are not comfortable with if we did not make the adjustment. A good example is someone who has heart disease changing their diet from Big Mac’s to chicken soup and salad. These are things we do, perhaps not willingly, but to continue our life in the direction we desire. The inconjunct between Saturn and Uranus applies the above concept to the areas in our chart ruled by Saturn, Capricorn, Uranus and Aquarius. Where the two planets/signs are placed in your natal chart is where you will experience a need to make changes and adjustments. If you have a natal aspect between these two planets you will be more affected than someone who does not have these two energies inherently combined and operative in their chart. Saturn/Capricorn energy is typically a stultifying and somber influence, but also serves the necessary function of keeping us all safe and in-line by giving goals, direction and laws. Saturn builds structures, traditions and gives us all something to hold on to in this ever changing world. For those who completely refuse to conform to even the most basic of life’s laws and dictates, repression and loss of freedom is an inevitable conclusion. Saturn also gives us the discipline needed to rise to life’s challenges and reach lofty goals. Think of someone training for a marathon. Getting up early every day to train, rain or shine, in order to be in optimal shape, and have the appropriate stamina to not only finish, but finish first. Uranus may appear to be Saturn’s opposite, yet Saturn is the traditional ruler of Aquarius, before Uranus was discovered. This is why some Aquarians are more reticent in personality than others…they carry the Saturn signature more strongly than the Uranian. I think in the days of the ancients, having Saturn as Aquarius’ ruler was necessary because the genius’ and free thinkers had to conform in order to even survive. Life was more difficult and things had to be done a certain way, either because of the dictator one lived under or because even writing your ideas down was a difficult and costly endeavor, that is, if you were even taught or allowed to write. Not that there are not evil and oppressive areas of the world still, and if I lived in some places in the Middle East or Asia I would be labeled a witch and killed because I am an astrologer. For unevolved and downright stupid people, free thinking ideas are a threat, primarily because they are incapable of understanding the world with any more depth than an animal. Anyway, without an element of Saturn functioning within or in tandem with Uranus all would be chaos. In order for Uranus to function at its highest level, it needs the grounding of Saturn. Anyway, while Saturn learns by rote, Uranus learns extemporaneously. Uranus is lightening quick and gives us vast, and often sudden, insight into the areas of our chart…life…which it touches; it is humanitarian, seeing the higher ideal of helping others and learning about different cultures. Uranus is particularly charismatic and draws people towards it, often only to run away from them due to the inherent rebellion found in its energy. Uranus is the cosmic energy which is the hardest to pin down and predict by transit, and in my opinion is often found where God is at work in our lives. Those unexplainable moments and meetings where you get just what you need from the universe at just the right time; these are not accidents of time or coincidences which occur randomly folks. These are the hand of God touching your life and blocking one path in order to lead you to the place you need to be to accomplish what you are here on earth to do. And we are all here to do something…every one of us. That being said, Uranian eccentricity and unpredictability are the anathema of those afraid of change and who enjoy their well worn, rutted life because they are comfortable there. The “establishment” and anyone looking to maintain the status quo…all Saturn themes…often try to squash the light of Uranus, and the dissenting energy of Uranus is often times in need of a good squashing. Uranus lives to overthrow traditions and staid, boring routines. It brings us new discoveries, scientific breakthroughs and such. Saturn is here to give form and usefulness to these discoveries. He brings the genius down to earth. Think of the abovementioned energies then in respect to the type of interaction they will be having together visa via the inconjunct. The energies are incongruent but necessary for the others survival and growth. If your natal Uranus is the more prominently placed planet in your chart in comparison to Saturn, then expect the areas of your life that are out of control to be moderated. If you are lacking direction then Saturn could provide an obvious path for you to follow and use your eccentric and unusual ideas in a more concrete forum. People may enter your life in order to provide you with a foundation in which to build your dreams into reality. On the other hand, if you have Saturn as the stronger planet natally, you are very diligent and have immense ability to follow through with projects and rarely rebel against the authority figures. Uranus in this transit will shake up your world and cause you to rethink the outdated, worn out areas of your life. If you go with the Uranian flow and try to keep an open mind, you will be astonished at how renewed you feel. It will be like a breath of fresh air has arrived in your world if you will but adjust your thinking and expand what you might think is within the realm of possibility. The good thing is, with the inconjunct, you are more able to make this call, rather than having it made for you, like if it were a square or opposition by transit. Most of us won’t be having the decision made for us by outside influences, unless your natal chart has these two planets poorly placed. The universe is giving most of us a chance to change of our own free will. These changes may not be easy, but they will be rewarding. Another consideration in this particular instance is which planet is stronger by sign. Saturn is currently in Leo, and Uranus is in Pisces. Saturn will be retrograde, though it is placed higher in the sky than Uranus in a solar chart for the day of the transit being exact. Pisces is not seen as a strong sign traditionally, being ruled by Neptune. However, Neptune is in Aquarius causing a “mutual reception” between the two planets. Also, and most importantly, Uranus is part of a Yod transit between itself, Saturn, and the Moon and South Node in Libra. Uranus is the focus of this Yod. The Yod is considered the hand of God transit and is pointing toward the way out of a dilemma or problem. Therefore, because of this, I believe Uranus is the way out at this time. Using your humanitarian instincts, thinking out of the box, coloring outside the lines and changing something very elemental in you life will open a door for you allowing you to escape into the life you really want. Focusing on the positive influences of Uranus to help you define what this might mean for you personally, Let us look at some of the keywords of Uranus in Pisces. Humanitarian support and awareness, faith in God or at least some higher power, using computers to bring hope to the hopeless (did you read where they have developed a chip to place in the brains of people with quadriplegia allowing them to use their minds to move a robotic arm?), embracing, or at least tolerating things which are different than you are, therefore inhibiting prejudicial attitudes. Not being part of the “herd following” mentality, bucking the corrupt system and doing what is right and just, rewarding those who can think “out of the box” and make decisions based on the axiom of doing the least harm. Changing the way we view water and our oceans and understanding we are harming our water systems by using them in ways they were not meant to be used (did you hear that CHINA? Or are you still not allowed to view the world at large via the internet?). Understanding that it is okay for you to follow your dreams, and that visualizing them will help to make them come true. Embracing the idealistic side of your nature and listening to it. Learning more about what inspires you to be a better person. You can promote truth instead of deception…objectivity instead of subjectivity…higher minded ideals instead of worn out dogma. Uranus in Pisces can be a sublime blending of human kindness and innovative response. I think God wants us to try and save the world, thus saving ourselves. ![]() Copyright ©2004-2007.
