Therefore, this movement might act as an edifying and mellowing influence on the other more volatile transcendental planet movement of Uranus into Aries we are currently experiencing. These two cosmic shifts (especially the one of Neptune into Pisces) are very significant because they are long term trends and signal changes which affect the entire world. Whether we like it or not, we are all the family human and we have to live under the same sky. Neptune is a planet of vast dichotomy and it is not easy to understand the depth of feeling and sensory stimuli that those who are strongly ruled by it feel. This planet has under its auspices such arenas as faith, unconditional love and virtual reality. Neptune entreats us to truly feel the plight of the “other”, to walk a mile in their moccasins and resolve to abolish cruelty and inhumanity. As Neptune moves into its Home sign Pisces, all that is wonderful about Neptune will come to us doubly…as will all that is negative. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac and culminates the entire storehouse of mankind’s knowledge which was accumulated through experiencing the signs proceeding it. Pisces then adds the elements all the other signs missed: The ability to empathize with others; merging with the cosmos and with our fellow humans on a deep level; perceiving the needs of other Earth walkers, and rectifying injustices to humanity. Quite a task they seek is it not? Unfortunately for humanity, Neptune/Pisces types are some of the most susceptible to getting their wires crossed and to be blindsided by reality, choosing to believe illusions. Suffering is manifest within these two energies and often delusion hides the key to freedom from that sorry state. Those with strong Neptune/Pisces vibrations in their natal chart can feel the tragic void from another’s broken heart, and suffer the breaking of their own in the process. Obviously this is not healthy for them, nor is it helpful to the other. So what kinds of conditions may we expect from the teaming up of two like-minded energies? Mystical leaders can come forward to bring people together who never would have thought they could believe similarly. Charlatans and fanatics can emerge to incite everything from riots, to cults, which rival those of David Koresh, Jim Jones and the Nazis. The Neptune/Pisces vibration is able to tap into the collective unconscious to create a path many will want to follow. Being willing to die for a cause is purely derived from this energy. Kamikaze pilots and suicide bombers died for their delusions: As do real heroes and saints…all Neptune’s doing. Politicians and political parties are ruled by this vibe, as are con artists; though perhaps I am being redundant there. Neptune rules large expanses of water, particularly salt water, and therefore presides over the oceans and seas. Neptune is associated with the Greek god Poseidon, who carries a trident from which the symbol of Neptune is derived. As mythology goes, when Poseidon was angered with the mortals he deluged them with floods and baked them with droughts. He had a very disturbing temper because he was unpredictable, often lashing out unexpectedly. Our oceans behave similarly, offering everything from rogue waves, to sudden squalls, to hurricanes which have led to the demise of seafarer and land dweller alike. This combo brings to mind disastrous nautical calamities such as the Edmund Fitzgerald, the Mary Celeste and the dearth of mysterious happenings associated with the Bermuda Triangle. Neptune is the leader of all things mysterious, spooky and ooky: Bumps in the night, ghostly apparitions, bogs, fog and gooey slime. Fun stuff. If you haven’t noticed there have been a number of contagious illnesses and problems amongst cruise liners in the past year or so. (Note: When a planet grows near the time which it will switch signs, make transit to another, or becomes stationary before a retrograde we begin to see inklings of things to come. The cosmos is not simply black and white and the energies to not switch on and off like a light switch…there is a preview and a lingering…depending on which side of the shift we find ourselves.) Anyway…Neptune rules health problems which are not easily diagnosed, are infectious, as well as contributing to any problem on a mass scale. I have often found it in play when studying epidemics. Cheery note there eh? Sorry, it is what it is. On the other side of it, great strides can be made in relation to the nautical and the oceans: Perhaps a cheap way to desalinize the oceans will be found? That would be a double blessing since they appear to be on the rise, we may as well use the extra water for a good purpose, such as irrigation…since the world is on the cusp of being hungrier We already are not feeding everyone. Neptune/Pisces will herald a more intuitive time for those who carry this signature strongly in their charts. Every person on the planet has this energy in their natal chart, to varying degrees of import. With the assistance of Neptune in Pisces we can leap the boundaries of time and space, we can see beyond what only affects us personally and into the realm of another’s situation and we can assist the disenfranchised in overcoming oppression and hardship. This is an energy that can improve humanity’s situation on a grand scale. However, "man's inhumanity to man", to quote Robert Burn’s poem (look to the seventh stanza), is still apt to trip us up. I don’t see as we have progressed significantly in our humanity since the time the poem was written in 1784. There is still want, war and oppression. Neptune in Pisces is perhaps being sent as our one of our last hopes. Perchance, God is offering us this piece of serene insight, for a time, in order to see how we will use it. It is said that Neptune rules the years of age from 84 to 99, and during the years Neptune is in Pisces there will be a surge of folks of this age group, likely more than the world has ever seen at one time. How will we deal with them? Will we continue to perpetuate, as the old reverend in the "poem" laments, the belief that man “is useful to his kind”, only in his “prime”? We will see many “on the edge of life” in the coming years. How will we care for them? Will we care for them or stick them in derelict spaces not fit for man or beast? That is what we do to many now…I have seen it. My undergraduate studies included a concentration in geriatrics. I have always enjoyed the company of most elderly people (except for the truly bitter ones, of which there are many). I think we should make it mandatory that we all adopt an “Ancient” if our own family is lacking them. In the bit of volunteer work I have done as an ombudsman in institutions, I found the forgotten and the forlorn. In working with critically ill children and the elderly, I also found that the closer you are to being with God (either having just come from or preparing to re-meet the Deity) the boost to intuitive insight is astounding: They can look upon you one time only and see into your soul or your future. We all have that ability, but it is forgotten as we become entrenched in the mundane aspects of this superficial world. I believe it will be reborn in many who are able to feel the power of Neptune in Pisces. Telepathy and clairvoyance have always resided in the domain of Neptune and Pisces (as well as the moon and Cancer, and Pluto and Scorpio folks who are living as an eagle rather than a scorpion). Intuitive gifts will become much more mainstream in the belief system of the masses before this energy is spent. Neptune in Pisces rules drugs and addictions. Much of the world believes already that a pill can cure anything and the medical establishment and pharmaceutical companies perpetuate this myth for their own gain. I was taught by my professors that drugs given for mental health issues were never to be administered without therapeutic intervention: Which was also self-serving of the professors, since we were training to be therapists! Everyone has an angle my friends and the angles will be truly wily with Neptune in Pisces at the helm. From the con of the drug dealer to addict the purchaser in order to keep them coming back…to the doctor giving you a ‘script that isn’t as indicated as another because he receives a kickback from big pharm for the one he gives you and not the more relevant. Ask your doc which drug companies are giving him or her a cut next time you are there…bet s/he won’t tell you. The good news in all of this is that there will be breakthroughs in drugs which will cure or greatly diffuse a good many incurable ailments in the next 25 years. Geneticists will find ways to manipulate faulty DNA strands to make illnesses just disappear. Because of the influx of the aged amongst the population, many of whom carry with them the most wealth, there will be advances in anti-aging research, and even the potential to regrow damaged body parts. The dawn of this new age is one which has deep meaning for the planet. There are disparities among us on a global scale which need to be resolved if we are to progress as a species. Neptune in Pisces is an extremely charitable energy and hopefully it will be used in this manner, at least to the point that it is useful. Not to create learned dependency on governmental and private sources, for this squelches self-reliance and all that spurs humanity on to great discoveries. People need to have a sense of personal achievement to thrive. We must not “give them the fish, we must teach them to fish”, as the old adage goes: Under what better auspice than the sign of the Fishes may this be accomplished? ![]() Neptune in Aquarius Neptune is very nebulous and elusive most of the time. It rules the oceans and shipping and other things liquid. Neptune provides us with inspired thoughts as well as devious ones. Artists and glamorous types are typified by this planet…as are the fathomless, mysterious and etheral. Aquarius is the change maker and the one who can electrify a situation when need be. They also can run around like chickens with their head’s cut off from time to time…so there’s that… Something else of note is that Uranus is in Pisces, which means it is in mutual reception with Neptune in Aquarius. This means the energy is more harmoneous than it might normally be…but go check that out for yourself. It is relevant, but I am not well versed on it. This configuration (Neptune in Aquarius) last occurred from 1828-1836. So in looking at some historical referrence points from those years we see: The last execution by the Inquisition in Europe Slavery abolished in Mexico; Belgium separated from the Netherlands; Great Cholera epidemic in Europe; The word socialism comes into use in Europe and France; Texas ceceded from Mexico; The idea of a computer was fathome;. The first US bank robbery; London Bridge was opened, First US music school established; John Deere made first steel plow; French government prohibited political caracatures; All of the info I have shared with you here is on the internet. A lot of it from timeline.ws out of Samoa I think…which I found intersting (and not entirely accurate) and www.history.com, as well as a couple of others. It took me maybe an hour to research it. Take a peek at these historical timeslines yourself, and watch as the years progress for correlations between the events occurring while the planets are in these signs again. ![]() Horoscopes and reports are for entertainment purposes only. | Retrograde Watch | Medical Astrology | Recipes by the Sign | Cheers to Jupiter! | Healthcare Issues in the News (Archive) | Neptune in Aquarius | Article Menu | To My Big Dog | Bird/Swine Flu Morphed, Article Written 2005 | Social Work: Not for the Meek of Heart | Saturn into Libra | North & South Node Placement | Jupiter by Sign | | 2010-2011 Highlights | Monthly Highlights | | Return Home | Aries | Taurus | Gemini | Cancer | Leo | Virgo | Libra | Scorpio | Sagittarius | Capricorn | Aquarius | Pisces | |
