Uranus trine Jupiter October 25th 2005 thru November 23 2006 Jupiter will be leaving Libra on October 25th after his year long gracing of that sign. When Jupiter enters our sun sign we are given a boost, our light is being asked to shine and our personal power can expand. We also have an element of protection not available to us at other times unless Venus or Jupiter are transiting our natal and progressed chart extremely favorably. However, Jupiter is not all fun and games, he can also bring too much of a good thing and our ultimate demise. Jupiter moving into Scorpio is quite different than when it was in Libra. Scorpio is one of the heavy hitters of the zodiac. Many people are afraid of the Scorpionic energy, but they need not be. Passion is not quite the right word to describe these combined energies, but it is close. Perhaps a better description is a fathomless intensity, an exuberant obsession, or a deep inner strength of conviction. And when it is based in high minded ideals it is capable of allowing we mere mortals to ascend beyond our present state of consciousness. Few other planetary combinations can be such a force for good. These two energies when mixed can compel people to give more, be more generous and benevolent. However, we must look to individual motive to find if the giving is from the heart or if there is an ulterior motive for their magnanimous gestures. If Leo is involved in the mix it can generate a generous person who is only doing it for personal gain, in order to impress others or draw attention to themselves, thereby glorifying their own egos. Motive is a very important concept to keep in mind when dealing with anyone. Jupiter should not only help people who are Scorpios this year through its benevolent protection, but it will also enhance all characteristics of this sign. These characteristics include many but here are some of the highlights. The biggest and best in my opinion is passion. Sexual passion is under the rulership of Scorpio, so magnificent obsessions will be on the rise. For those of us hopeless romantics it sounds great to envision having someone love us so much they don’t believe they can live without us. And remember, other human beings are not the only target for our passion. Focusing on any high minded activities such as social work, charity fundraising, biblical studies, or philosophy all fit the bill. What part of your life are you the most focused on, the most passionate about? Expect to be spending even more time and energy looking for opportunities to do that which you love most. Now, even though Jupiter is considered one of the good guys of the zodiac, that doesn’t mean there isn’t a darker side, and Scorpio and Pluto are the dark side. They are associated with Hades, the underworld and things that go bump in the night. They also rule force and at a horribly subterranean level death and violence. Scary stuff. I do fear there will be some increase of violence against women because of the association to sexual passion. Stalkers and rapists or worse could pose as, or actually be, religious figures, teachers, or other benevolent figures that are given automatic trust. Check out anyone who seems too good to be true, never giving up hope that someone actually is. Jupiter is the great optimist and represents people who are pursuing a vision of truth and human kindness. If you are to meet someone who symbolizes the greater good, who can stare down evil without flinching, who is truly a humanitarian and/or who has a profound connection to God, now it will be possible. However, it will also be possible to see the dark side of Pluto exaggerated tenfold. Random acts of violence are some of the most disconcerting tragedies for humans to fathom, and while nothing about Scorpio is ever random, nor could the nature of Jupiter be described thusly, when we add another planet to the mix, we open a Pandora’s Box of possible scenarios. The ruler of randomness is epitomized by Uranian energy and Jupiter will be in trine aspect to Uranus for most of the period of time Jupiter is in Scorpio. This adds a distinct element of uncertainty to the mix even though the nature of the transit is a positive one. Sometimes trines and sextiles open the path for bad things to happen, because they represent taking the path of least resistance and the easy way out. This typically only happens if the energy has been ill used by the individual for a great deal of time. However, Uranus is also completely unpredictable and I consider it to be the hand of God intervening in our lives. There is great potential for good and evil in this configuration and we must expect to see both. The one thing you can depend upon is whatever happens will not be done half way. On September 24th, Jupiter will enter Libra after his year long stay in Virgo. Virgo, is an analytical, critical and observant sign. His stay in this sign has been a year of examining our intentions, values and more particularly the values of others. In America, we have two relevant presidential candidates to analyze. One has a 4 year track record, the other does not. Both gentlemen are a far cry from being able to relate to the “real world” because of their immense wealth and status in the world. They were both born with silver spoons in their mouths and that spoon sticks in the craw of many who grow up in a common reality, including me. John Kerry has many very powerful aspects in his chart which cause me to sense danger in association with his possible reign. We have already experienced danger with G.W.B. so we know how he will handle more of the same. My political views are irrelevant, but this upcoming election is not. Voting is a right we have in this country: one that we are privileged to have. Make sure you utilize this advantage whenever possible, and if you don’t, do not bitch about the outcomes. Part of everyone’s luck in this wonderful United States of America is the ability to voice our opinion at the voting booth. Exercise this blessing please. As for the lucky planet’s change of sign and therefore his focus of abundance, it should be aimed in some measure at: Libras, attorneys, artisans, jewelers, perfume makers, clothing sellers, tailors, people associated with the justice system, golfers, beauticians, singers and other entertainers, the hotel and restaurant business, florists, and anyone who is in love in the purest sense of the word. Some of my favorite compatriots of astrology are envisioning a year worse than the present cycle. They may be right, but that attitude will probably be a self-fulfilling prophecy for those who wish to take it. I personally can’t imagine a year of luck ruled by Venus, the goddess of love, being worse that one ruled by Virgo, the purveyor of methodologies, mundane happenings, health and welfare agencies. I have great hopes that this will be a year of extreme love and peace, and the enhancement of the arts and fun filled adventures. I think part of what has my compatriots of the skies worried is that Jupiter is hiding out in the 12th house. However, Jupiter’s higher energy force is Neptune, so he is actually quite at home in this house giving us all an element of protection with his presence. Also concerning, is that in the solar chart of Jupiter into Libra, Saturn is sitting on the Midheaven, or status and reputation sector of the chart. I have to admit, that isn’t the best place to find the keeper of time, but for those who aren’t afraid of hard work, they will receive attention in anything they endeavor to do quietly and with true humility.
